FAQs

  • How do I get an appointment to see a specialist Cardiologist?

Before booking an appointment, you will need a valid referral from either a General Practitioner (GP) or another Specialist.

    - GP referrals are valid for 12 months.

    - Specialist referrals are valid for 3 months.

Once we receive your referral, it will be triaged by one of our cardiologists to determine the appropriate timeframe for your appointment. A member of our reception staff will then contact the patient to organise the appointment and confirm a suitable date and time.

  • What will the appointment cost me?

The cost of the appointment may vary depending on your specific cardiologist. Your appointment letter will provide details of the potential charges. In some cases, the doctor may apply a reduced fee at their discretion.

  • How long is an appointment?

A new patient appointment typically lasts around 30 minutes, while a review or follow-up appointment is usually about 15 minutes. Please note that this can vary, as some of our visiting specialists may have different appointment durations.

  • Why is my appointment with a different cardiologist?

In some cases, the cardiologist to whom your referral is addressed may determine that it is more appropriate for you to see a different cardiologist. This may be because your condition is better suited to a specialist in a particular area, or because the wait time to see the originally referred cardiologist is considered medically inappropriate.
