Dr Kawa Haji is a consultant cardiologist subspecialising in coronary and valvular heart disease. His interests include heart disease risk assessment, coronary artery stenting and advanced transcatheter valvular heart intervention. He is also a clinician researcher with a deep interest in improving the delivery of cardiology services to the public.
Kawa completed his cardiology training at Western Health, Royal Melbourne Hospital and Ballarat. He then did further sub-speciality training at Western Health and Alfred Health.
He completed his PhD thesis at the University of Melbourne and Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute. His research focused on novel cardiac imaging techniques. He has published his work in high-ranking international journals and has presented his work at both international and national conferences.
Dr Haji is a dedicated, driven, and well-rounded cardiologist. He is passionate about improving the cardiac health of people who live in metropolitan Melbourne and rural and regional Victoria.
