About

Ballarat Cardiology was established in 2012 by Drs Christopher Hengel and Dr Rodney Reddy with the aim to provide a wide range of cardiac services to the community of Western Victoria. Ballarat Cardiology has 10 Cardiologists consulting in our rooms including a variety of cardiac sub-specialties such as coronary intervention, pacing, electrocardiography, stress testing, cardiac imaging, electrophysiology and cardiac surgery reviews. Our local specialists have associations with Melbourne University, Notre Dame and Deakin University medical schools.

For Non-insured patients our local specialists are accredited at Ballarat Base hospital. Procedures not performed locally can be organised through any of the major cardiac centres such as (but not limited to) Barwon Health, Royal Melbourne hospital or The Alfred hospital.

Insured patients requiring cardiac procedures have the options of St John of God Hospital – Ballarat (angiograms/stenting, pacemakers (including internal defibrillators and resynchronisation devices), DC reversion, Transoesophageal echo), Cabrini Hospital – Malvern (cardiac surgery, angiograms/stenting, electrophysiology), Melbourne Private (cardiac surgery and electrophysiology), St John of God Hospital – Geelong (cardiac surgery, angiograms/stenting, electrophysiology).

We also provide cardiac services to regional locations (Ararat, Hamilton, Horsham, Maryborough and Stawell).

Remote Clinics

To ensure a high quality service designed to meet the demands of residents in the rural areas of our region, we offer remote clinics in Ararat, Hamilton, Horsham, Maryborough and Stawell.  While not all appointments are able to be provided to residents of these areas, we do attempt to make them available to those in most need.

Telehealth

To ensure an excellent service to our regional patients in addition to our remote clinics we also offer a Telehealth service to aim to avoid long periods of travel for review appointments. Learn more about our Teleheath service (Outpatient Clinics)
