Mr Michael Rowland
Mr Rowland’s specialty is adult Cardiac and Thoracic surgery. His particular interests are Aortic and Mitral valve surgery, Coronary Bypass surgery and acquired Lung Disease.
Mr Rowland received his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of NSW in 1986. He trained in all aspects of Adult Cardiothoracic Surgery and Transplantation under the guidance of the late Victor Chang at St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney.
He completed his Cardiothoracic Surgery Training in 1996 and was awarded a Fellowship in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
Whilst training he attended the Baker Research Institute where he undertook research into the effects of ageing on the heart, and studied overseas at Harvard University’s Beth Israel Hospital and Cambridge University’s Papworth Hospital. He returned to Melbourne in 1998.
